Supervisor/Senior Accountant

This opportunity will allow you to work is the advisory side of the business servicing of high net wealth individuals and clients.

Providing business, tax and consulting services to high profile individuals, there are Seven Core Competencies required for success in this role in a boutique chartered accounting firm

1. Knowledge of accounting principles and willingness to learn more
2. Communication and promotion of the firm to attract and retain clientele
3. Being numerate, striving for technical excellence, and commercial
4. Maintenance of knowledge and ethics to the ICAA standard
5. Client management, communication and liaison
6. Compliance awareness
7. Familiarity with IT and accounting software:

Proficient skills in Excel and Office products; MYOB accounting software;
Use of Xero, MYOB, Accountants Enterprise, BGL, MAS and ITR preparation software.

Responsibilities Supporting the Business Services functions in:
• Preparing Income Tax Returns, Business Activity Statements and related workings
• Assisting in the annual tax planning review of all business and high income earning clients
• Managing Junior Accountants workflow and deliverables
• Reviewing Junior Accountants work and deliverables
• Attending special consulting projects for clients as required with collaboration of Director
• Pro-active tax management and knowledge of structuring or mitigation opportunities
• Providing strategic business advice to clients
• Advising clients in regard to business structuring
• Preparation of complex management and financial reports
• General ledger maintenance and performing multiple reconciliations for management and financial accounting purposes
• Preparing statutory financial accounts and relevant work papers
• Reporting and Compliance for foreign subsidiaries (limited number of clients)
• Managing tax audits conducted by ATO including the drafting of preliminary correspondence for the review of the Director
• Preparing annual budgeting & cash flow forecasts for clients
• Aiding the firm’s corporate clients as and when required
• Dealing with ASIC and ATO statutory bodies as a client and firm liaison when required

Supporting the business by:
• Carrying on all client dealings and relationships with due care
• Reporting concerns or queries to the Director
• Complying with all Traverse Accountants policies and procedures
• Applying yourself in training or recommended reading to increase your knowledge base
• Assisting in administrative tasks such as client file maintenance.

Being proactive and business minded, you should have the following qualifications:

Business Degree with CA/CPA Qualification

Australian PR or Citizenship is essential. Both doses of COVID 19 vaccination will be required for this position
